Vampire Prince Series

LISTENER: “Lovely”

PLACEMENT: Vampire Prince, Episode 1

RUNTIME: 10:27

OVERVIEW

Vincent sneaks up on the listener, surprising them with a “Boo!” before attempting to reassure them of their safety. He notes that it’s odd that they are walking around all alone at dusk in an abandoned amusement park. The listener replies that they have “heard stories”, and Vincent asks for further details, wondering if those stories involved tales of “devilishly handsome men with pale skin and silver eyes [that] prowl the grounds”, who are “bewitched by equally stunning visitors who insist they just came there ‘to walk’”. The listener states otherwise, but Vincent mentions that it doesn’t make his story any less true.

The listener continues, mentioning that there are stories of “things” in the park, ones which only appear in the dark. Vincent notes that those stories are interesting, but attempts to redirect the conversation back to his flirtations, calling the listener interesting and attractive, wondering if they have made a deal with a Demon in that regard. When the listener disagrees, he mentions that Demons are very much real, and moves closer, pushing harder for an answer on why they came, wondering if it was to verify their skepticism.

Vincent continues to heavily flirt with the listener, again complimenting their looks, and scent, and stating that he’d ask fewer questions if the listener would actually answer them. He calls out that their heart is racing, and mentions that, arguments to the contrary, they seem to like it very much when he compliments them.

He again returns to his original question, inquiring why they are here this late, alone. He assures them that it was a bad idea, and that they should be grateful that he found them before “one of [his] counterparts” did, stating that he’s old enough to keep his hunger in check, unlike some of them. He says that the listener’s blood practically sings to him, and that they’re testing his resolve just by being close, but that he will resist.

Catching on to his implication, the listener clarifies that they don’t believe in Vampires, to which Vincent replies that while it’s good to carry skepticism, their belief is a belief, and his existence is a reality, but that regardless, they are in danger and need to leave. He asserts that while he’d love to stay with them, their safety is paramount, and that he will guide them out of the park, promising the potential of a future meeting while escorting them back to their car.

He asks the listener to not return to the park, at least not at night. He states that if they want to see him, they just need to say his name, and that he’ll hear it, and clarifies that his name is Vincent. The listener tells him theirs, which he calls a “lovely name for a lovely soul”, and bids them good night.

TRIVIA

  • First video released on the channel, though it was the third video ever written.

  • The first twenty seconds of the video includes a scene of a physical cassette tape bearing the imagery of the video thumbnail being picked up, turned around, and then the cassette being placed in a player and the “Play” button being pressed. This was originally planned to occur with all future videos, but ultimately it was felt that it would break immersion of the stories themselves and slow down production time, so this remains the only example of this on the channel.

  • Includes the first reference to a person’s emotional state affecting the taste of their blood.

  • First instance of the listener being referred to as “Lovely”, which will ultimately become their recurring petname.
