OVERVIEW

The listener returns home after a long day to find Vincent in their apartment, laying on their bed. He laments that it took them so long to return, and inquires if it’s because they were looking for “some other paranormal hunk”, and sarcastically says that the thought breaks his heart. He assures the listener that he’s teasing them, notes that they look exhausted, and suggests they come sit beside him, which they do.

He attempts to steer the conversation with his flirtations, but eventually concedes to answer some of the listener’s questions. He avoids directly answering how he got in, stating only that their place is secure in general, but that he was able to use his powers to get in, powers which he knows the listener continues to doubt. He suggests they put those doubts to the test, and asks that they look into his eyes. When the listener expresses some apprehension, he teases that he thought they didn’t believe he had any powers, so they should have nothing to fear. It should be impossible for him to hypnotize them into a trance, if their beliefs are correct. He calls out that his eyes are unnatural, silver with flecks of crimson, but that they aren’t contact lenses. He shows off his fangs, mentioning that he usually keeps them retracted except when feeding, but that he’ll make an exception. He asserts again that both these features and his claims of being supernatural are real.

As further proof, he moves at Vampiric speed to get on top of the listener and holds them in place with little effort due to his superior strength. He again mentions the appeal of their blood, and that it takes a lot of control to resist that call, just as it did the night before. He asserts that he would have turned any other Vampire competitor to ash if they’d tried to make a move on the listener.

Vincent is drawn in by the scent of their blood, but catches himself before going too far, though he is shaken by his own loss of composure. Clearly upset, he insists that he needs to leave, because he doesn’t want to scare the listener or “mess this up”. He wants it to go slowly. He asserts that he needs to go blow off steam but assures the listener that he’ll see them again later, before leaving.

TRIVIA

  • First sequel video released on the channel, marking the first example of what would become the eventual trend of serialized work.

  • The term “juvinate”, used to refer to young Vampires, is a reference to the enemies of the same name in Old School Runescape.

  • Vampire’s ability to Trance humans is implied for the first time, though not yet confirmed or displayed.

  • One of the rare instances where a character’s physical features are explicitly stated: Vincent has silver eyes with flecks of crimson in them and retractable fangs, and his skin is confirmed to be pale.
