OVERVIEW
The listener wakes up in an unknown location. Adam has kidnapped them, and he wastes no time before mocking them, inquiring if his isn’t the face they were expecting to see before insisting that it can’t be that bad of a view since he knows he can go head to head with Vincent in the looks department. He insinuates that he’s killed many humans, and makes it clear that he reveled in the experience.
He mocks the listener for not learning from their last encounter, having allowed him to Trance them again, though this time it is a less restrictive one. He has let them retain the ability to speak. He states that there must be something special about the listener for Vincent to have wasted so much time on them, but theorizes that it’s just their blood. Like Vincent, after getting close to their blood, Adam’s thoughts have been plagued by the listener and memories of them, and he plans to find out why.
The listener asks where they are, and Adam laughs the question off, stating that it’s irrelevant. What matters is that they are with him, and he plans to keep it that way, provided they don’t bore him. He confirms that he’s never had a live-in source of blood before, feeling that the effort to keep them alive would be too much work under normal circumstances, but for the sake of having their unique blood readily available to him, he’s willing to try for now. Adam states that physiologically Vampires can’t get drunk on alcohol, but the listener’s blood reminds him of when that was possible for him. He further mocks the listener, twisting Vincent’s prior petnames for them to his own uses before stating unequivocally that he finds the listener pathetic. But he continues, adding that he can work with pathetic; “beautiful and broken” is a specialty of his, and if they aren’t broken before they meet him, they are when he’s done.
Adam makes it clear that he plans to feed on them, and the listener protests by stating that they’re Marked. Adam waves this aside, stating that he has no intention of obeying the customs, and instead finds the scent of Vincent on their skin oddly tantalizing, considering it a bonus. He then tells them to stop talking and bites them on the neck, joking that he hopes Vincent likes second place. The blood affects him deeply, and he bites them again before stating that he wants to drain every drop, but that he won’t. When the listener looks relieved, Adam adds that they shouldn’t, because by the time he’s done with them, they’ll wish he had drained them instead. But he also leaves open the possibility that they might actually enjoy it— that they might be “that special kind of cattle— the kind that likes it” before stating that he doesn’t care either way.
He continues to objectify and humiliate the listener, and adds that Vincent won’t want anything to do with them now that they’re Adam’s, insisting that he is now all they have. He then bites them again, and the listener begins to blackout. Amidst other insults, Adam encourages the listener to dream of him, just as Vincent did the night prior, before the listener slips unconscious.
TRIVIA
The only video in which Adam appears solo.
The listener’s unique blood and its impact on Vampires is explored more and shown to affect Vampires other than just Vincent, but ultimately remains unexplained by the end of the video.
